Overhaul of the Diet
We must move on from the diet trends we face in the media today. The constant surge of testimonies and gimmicks to sell a book or pill. Mainstream Dieting is nothing more than a business, a very successful one. These people know the problem Americans face today, we all know. The fact is we, all want to eat better and healthier, but can’t always resist the convenience that we are constantly surrounded by. We ride a rollercoaster of decisions and choices. Media strikes people with the fear of getting fat, then turns around and offers a quick solution to protect you from that fear. It is a game to them, push then pull. It is true that everyone needs to watch what they eat, and keep their waistline in check. It is healthy to do so, everyone has a natural size and weight their body was designed for. They can not go on these dramatic cycles of dieting, hoping to find the answers. You will never achieve your dietary goals if all you are concerned about it staying away from the fat side.
Instead I believe the proper diet is not a diet at all. It all comes down to the choices we make about the food we consume. There is no need to be scared or confused about that. It can be very hard at times to resist the temptation of quick and easy, (yes we are still talking about food) but we all know the best way is not always the quickest nor the easiest. Just stop and think about where you choose to spend your dollar, and don’t feel that you can’t spend the extra thirty cents for better produce. I have a family, I know it cost far more to feed them fresh produce compared to frozen peas and potatoes from a box.
Take time with someone to shuck the peas, boil the water and peel the potatoes. I promise dinner and the leftovers will be better. Eat with purpose and eat with balance and never sacrifice yourself to a schedule of eating habits or foods.
